Hello again fellow followers,
Just a quick personal update for you all: I have officially finished my last studying term at University! All that’s left now is dissertation work and one essay and then I’m done. So, I guess there’s no more excuses for lacking on the blog postings…
As a student, I don’t have the luxury of spending my loan on whatever I want, I have to prioritise and split my money where I feel best. 9 times out of 10…it will be fitness related – is anyone the same!? Have a read and let me know I’m not alone or if I’ve missed any out!
1.Gym Clothes over Normal Clothes
You never thought of this as a problem. You’ll have gym later on in the day so it makes sense just to get on with your day in your workout gear. But on the days where you don’t. SCREWED. TOTALLY SCREWED.
You forget what kind of clothes you have in your wardrobe. Jeans! A nice top! Skirts! It’s like you’ve gone shopping all over again when they’re rediscover them. Only to wear for one day and to be banished back into the wardrobe.
2. Sports Massages over Beauty Treatments
You know when it get’s to that point where you’re in need of some pampering time. Well, your body is probably in need of it more so than your nails. And you know it too. So you neglect the talons and live with having to self tan for another month as you know your body will make you pay for it if you neglect it another week.
It just means puppy dog eyes every time you pass a nail salon…
3. Food over ANYTHING
Had to be said really. It would be rude not to. Because we all know it’s true. The only thing that comes out on top ALWAYS, is food. Right? P.s That is total friend goals^
4.Trainers over Nice Shoes/Heels
You all know what I mean by ‘nice shoes’ right? The ones you slip on for an evening out or formal dinner. Yet they’re nowhere to be seen. A frantic trip to primark is often part of every university year (don’t judge ok they do alright shoes). But why would you spend money on shoes that you wear 1% of the time!? Because it really fucking matters when you need them that’s why.
5. Shaving the bottom half of legs & armpits over anywhere else
We’re now pros at a quick shave of the lower legs and armpits when wearing gym kit that exposes you. This means that the rest of your legs are having a full on party. They’re lovely and warm with that blanket made out of hair you’ve let grow for the past couple of weeks.
But when the time comes where you’re having to shave the entire leg of yours…it.is.bliss (and the other one ofc). You’re wanting people to feel and slip right off your smooth, shiny legs.
6. Fitness Instagrams over Your Own Friends Instagrams
You become obsessed with those insta famous gym bunnies and their posts and their body and their LIFE! Ugh, sickening. Along with those that post regular workout ideas or post workout snacks. Before you know it, you’re 4 weeks behind on your mates insta’s and feel like you’ve betrayed them with your lack of likes…bring on the stalking sessions.
7. Activity Tracker over Watch
If you haven’t caught the activity tracker bug yet, wait for it. It’ll creep up on you and before you know it, you’ll be looking down at your fitbit instead of the watch you wore since the womb.
For those who already have one, ‘obsessed’ just doesn’t quite make the cut. You find yourself in your room late at night running around getting your step goal, or even doing more washing up than normal as the motion counts them as steps…or is that just me…
So there you have it – my decisions, mostly on a daily basis too. Maybe one day I’ll learn how to balance my life choices!!….one day.
