Before I start this weeks blog post, I just want to direct you to my amazing new header! It’s had a major re-vamp and it’s all down to Yaansoon over at Yaansoon Illustrations. I am obsessed with it! It was done by freehand with water colour and ink, check a video here on how it was done or simply check out their blog for more designs that could suit your blog too! It’s so gorgeous and perfect for a lifestyle blog. I hope you like it as much as I do…let me know what you think guys pretty please!
This week, I’ve been thinking about bloggers who have made it big and how at some point we wish we were them (and then snap back to reality). I think we can all relate in being a little envious of these people at times right? So I thought I’d put together some things that we all do and then wish for the best possible outcome…
*PLEASE NOTE* This is all totally in jest and for a giggle. Just a few honest thoughts I’ve had and other people have had from time to time…
1. Doing ‘Child’s Pose’ and Becoming a Yoga God
For those unaware, child’s pose is one of the most basic yoga poses one can do. It’s what we all start with and it’s what we all vision when thinking of a relaxing yoga session. It’s also featured in the pic above.
As soon as you’re in the infamous positions and doing all the breathing with whale music, you start to feel like you’re up there with the best – or wish you were. It’s only when it gets to headstands and balancing acts that you realise you’re way out of your depth and that you’re not the next indian yoga guru.
2. Doing a Progress Pic and Being On Kaylas Insta
Do I need to explain who Kayla is? Or is it just common knowledge now? I will anyways. She’s a GODDESS. She created BBG (bikini body guide) and has helped thousands of women lose weight and learn to love their body. Check her insta here.
She does a lot of reposts of her fellow BBG girls transformations, of which you can totally picture them fan girling once they realise their progress picture is posted onto an instagram account with nearly 5 million users. It just seems like the goal amongst the community to make it onto that page, some fail, some succeed, all you know is that it would be AWESOME to make it onto there. Is that sad? Oh well. I can’t be alone…surely??
3. Having Quinoa and Becoming a Health Guru
After making a bowl of fresh quinoa with a side of kale and half a sweet potato, you instagram it/blog about it in the hope of being the next big health blogger. Course you’re then faced with the struggle of actually eating it. But who cares, you got a good instagram right? Just don’t think about a greasy pizza or mac n cheese when you’re attempting to finish the bowlful, it doesn’t help.
If you read my last blog post, Jealous Thoughts Of Healthy Food Bloggers, you’ll now I’m not about the superfood health life. I’m trying though, reluctantly…anyone else the same?!
4. Filming a Workout and Becoming Instagram Famous
To help with motivation or to just stare at a perfectly toned bum for a couple of seconds, you follow some insta famous fitness accounts that film their workouts at the gym. 9 times out of 10, the videos are glute workouts, which isn’t too hot for your self-esteem, but gives you good ideas and a hit of jealousy.
5. Doing Squats and Becoming Kim K
We all know that feeling of finishing a squat set with your thighs burning. Or donkey kicks with your bum cramping up. You half expect to turn around and see a Kim K booty staring right back at you. Sadly, no.
Maybe head back to the instagram vids to stare at one similar.
6. Making a Breakfast Bowl and Being an Immediate Health God
The prettiest looking bowl of food you will ever see come from the big health foodies of the blogging world. So you start with a bowl, add some purple liquid, nuts/seeds/rabbit food, sliced banana, more grainy stuff and top it off with a flower. (?!) The flower’s normally a mini pansy that’s perfect in every way and prettier than you are. Where they get it from…no idea. They’re only going to ave to pick them off to eat the creation underneath. HASSLE. Just know that the bowl is getting you probably more likes than a selfie would and you’re basically a vegan now.
7. Having a Themed Insta and Being 100% Content in Life
If you’ve caught onto the instagram bug, then you’ll have got or at least tried to have a themed instagram. It’s pretty satisfying scrolling down an insta page that completely has it’s sh*t together. Everything matches, everything goes, everything is where it’s meant to be. But know that this is seriously hard. Especially when you love a picture but it doesn’t quite fit in with your theme, it’s an emotional departure.
I’m currently in the process of building one up with an autumnal sorta vibe but, do you know how hard that is when it’s sunny and you live by the sea!?
8. Eating Carbs and Becoming Arnie
Sometimes we all like to use the excuse of ‘bulking‘ when eating our body weight in carbs. (I don’t, I just eat). You hate yet love doing it. It doesn’t feel all that right putting that much carbs into your body after logging onto your blog reader and seeing green smoothies, juice detox and vegan diets. While you’re sat there with a bagel, bowl of mash and brown pasta. But you carry on regardless right?
