Morphe | 9C Highlight & Contour Kit

Hey lovelies,

SO this exciting right? My first ever beauty blogpost in my brand new beauty page! I feel like I’ve peeled off the protective film off of a brand new iPhone. WELCOME! And what better way to kick it all off than with a contour palette.

I love a good, strong healthy contour as much as the next beauty gal, so why not commit a bit more to it and buy a new palette?! This is the beautiful Morphe 9C contouring palette.

This super thin, light weight palette brings you 9 powders at the price of £22.99 over on the beloved BeautyBay. You really do get what you pay for, and if it makes you feel better (I always do this to help justify spending X amount of money on makeup) it’s roughly £2.50 a powder. SCORE. In comparison to the ABH contour kit retailing at £40 something for 6 shades, you’re laughing.

Starting from the top right, you have a neutral highlighter, yellow toned powder, pink toned powder, a peach toned powder and a shimmer highlight in the middle. Then it moves onto your contour shades ranging from light brown to a deep, grey tone.

I’m aiming to use the top row (still to find out which is best) for a go at baking. I have the NYX translucent powder soon to be delivered for that specific use, but for now I’ll be giving  mostly the yellow toned powder a go in setting my under eye concealer.

If you’re more about building the colour for your contour, the shade to the right of the middle pan would be perfect! It’s super subtle and ideal for a light brunch date (not that I have any to go to lol that’s sad). For nights out, that bottom row is MINE.

I can honestly say that I’ve never felt so FLAWLESS. Not to toot me own horn but, it was as if I’d been reborn. I’m used to quite warm toned bronzers/contour shades and as these are quite cool coloured, it gave me a completely different look – one that I’ve been after for a while!

The powders are very pigmented and the brush I used picks the powder up so well, that’s a warning btw. For any of you who are used to being quite heavy handed with powders..well, don’t with this. The first time, I looked like I’d been practising Halloween makeup already (wouldn’t put that past me). The second time, WERK.

I paired this kit with Morphe’s B78 Contour Brush; click here to view it, retailing at an AMAZING £6.50. I like to use contouring brushes that are quite defined in themselves and the angles quite harsh as I feel like it helps me get the right look I want and less chance of going wrong!

If you have ANY questions about how I apply this or the product itself, just let me know in the comments as I reply to EVERYONE! I’ve  just got into doing GRWM’s over on my snapchat which has proved popular, so be sure to scan my code in the sidebar if you want a sneak peek of this product in action! I’m also considering potential tutorials over on my YT channel so let me know!

I’m super happy with this palette and can’t wait to rinse the life out of it. Do any of you have this palette? If not, has this post just made you WANT IT RIGHT NOW?!

Let me know what you thought of my first EVER beauty post. I love this product and hope I’ve done it some justice!

Love Life, Lexi!

  2. Well this sounds like a winning combination! I’ve been loving the Sleek cream contour kit lately (in fact I even posted about it today) but I think sometimes a powder alternative is nice to have around – may have to look into this.. love that you get so many powders

    • Thanks so much for having a read and for taking the time to comment! I’ve been using cream contours for over 2 years now so the change to powder was so refreshing and light! I didn’t feel caked at all which is a huge plus to me! I did pair this with the sleek cream highlighter palette though in precious metals – couldn’t quite leave the creams out all together hehe! Feel free to add me on snapchat for Get Ready With Me’s and youtube for potential tutorials! xxx

    • It’s amazing! I can tell it’s going to last me a while as I’ve used it for about a week since I got it and it hasn’t made a dent! I’m yet to try that one but in hindsight, I’m not wanting to spend that money on a palette when this one was half the price! xx
